The Ross synthetic zipper bag has been re-designed. The new Ross bag has a suede-like, red exterior that offers more grip and makes it more like a hyprid hide/synthetic pipe bag. The bag requires no seasoning. The angled zipper is easier to pull and requires only a dab of lubricant at the end. The Ross canister system itself is the same that has served pipers for years.

I have used both an extended small and a medium. The 'guts' of the system take up a lot of room (minus the 1 star). Otherwise, airtight, comfortable, good pipe bag. Might need a bigger case if you don't want to disassemble your pipes to put them in the case due to the volume the 'guts' take up. The 'guts', however, do a GREAT job of controlling the moisture in the bag.

If you need the ultimate in moisture control this is the bag to have! I\'ve used the Ross system for many years and it does exactly what you want it to do. It stops moisture! Period. It has adjustable chanter moisture control so you can get some moisture to your chanter reed, but just enough, not too much. The only downside to this system is the bulkiness of the canister inside the bag. You will need a big pipe case to fit it all in without smashing it up too badly. Amazingly effective product! A+

The Ross system is without a doubt the best "moisture control" bag system on the market. It does an excellent job of limiting moisture in the pipe while providing an airtight bag. The big complaint has always been the lack of feeling with the bag, which the new red "hide like" covering aims to alleviate. Overall if you are looking for a synthetic bag - this is the best.

This is the most effective moisture control system out there. there's not a drop of moisture on my reeds after a two hour band practice!
