Fact # 15 ....... Mommy, are they here yet?
It would be nice if we could just go down to the cornerstore and buy a set a bagpipes, just like we do for a carton of milk. However this is usually not the case. If you are ordering pipes, you should expect a wait of 1-3 months before they arrive.....what are you kidding me? that long?....Yes, it only makes sense that the proper time and care is put into making your expensive, highly crafted instrument. So just keep working on your Tachums, Darados, and birls from D in the mean time!

Kinnaird Bagpipes & Reeds Inc. is a family owned and operated business dedicated to providing innovative pipe band products. Every product is designed to make playing the great highland bagpipe simpler and more enjoyable. We strongly believe that excellent customer service and technical support is essential to ensure that all customers receive the most benefit from our products. We are continually researching and developing new products that will improve your playing experience. Watch for our new products.
In 2000, Rob designed the Piper's Pal out of necessity. Living on the Canadian Prairies, it was always frustrating trying to keep cane reeds sounding well in the dry climate. Frustration led to the development of an innovative method of maintaining moisture other than daily playing. Thus, the Piper's Pal was born. Its retail debut was at the Canmore Games in Alberta, Canada during the summer of 2001. There was a lot of interest in the product and we began approaching professional pipers to test the product. Numerous professional pipers in Western Canada and Robert Wallace from the College of Piping in Scotland evaluated the product. When the College of Piping decided to carry the product a retail network started and a marketing campaign began.
Rob has been developing and designing other unique products over the years. All products are thoroughly tested and reviewed by professional pipers during their development. We strongly believe in offering unique and superior products that have been thoroughly tested prior to sale.

The Kinnaird Family

Rob Kinnaird is a piper, snare drummer, Professional Engineer, and the current Pipe Major of the Saskatoon Police Pipe Band. Rob began his pipe band career over 25 years ago with the Fraser Pipe Band in Regina, Saskatchewan. Since then, he has played both bagpipes and snare drum with the Victoria Park Pipe Band from Regina, Saskatchewan, and the Clan McBain Pipe Band from Calgary, Alberta. Rob learned piping and drumming from a very young age and has been instructed by some of the finest pipers and drummers in Canada. Rob is a Mechanical Engineer by profession. He has also studied musical acoustics for the past 4 years to assist with his personal study of the acoustics of the great highland bagpipe.
