I have one that predates the early 1990's; by how much I do not know. It is a good, very easy chanter to play. Reedability is very good. However, the B and C, as my experience with a few other makes of chanters, can be a tad flat.

What more can be said about the Naill solo chanter? It\'s reputation speaks for itself by the sheer volume of prizes that have been won with this exceptional chanter. Naill is the gold standard by which all other chanters are judged. The only negative side to a Naill chanter is getting it reeded up right. They can be picky to reed. But once you find the right reed for your Naill you will have tonal bliss. There simply is no better tone available than the Naill. I find MacPhee reeds to go particularly well in Naill chanters. A+++

Whle the tone on the Naill is excellent, the feel of it is the real winner for me. Have had good luck reeding with Shepherd, Apps, Elliott, and on the higher pitch end Abedour.
