There are no mineral or synthetic ingredients to plug the pores of the wood.

This is all I use in my pipes. I oil about three times a year. This stuff actually soaks into the wood and it will not go rancid. If you go to the Bore Doctors website you can read all about how this oil actually feeds and nourishes the wood, instead of just sitting on top of the wood. A+++
