Fact # 1 ....... Cracks
The blowpipe and chanter stocks are the most likely places for cracks to occur on the bagpipe due to their increased contact with moisture. After every playing session be sure to take out the blowpipe, chanter, and any moisture control system that plugs into the bottom of the blowpipe stock. Then dry the stocks with a cleaning brush. This is a great proactive measure to prevent cracks from occuring in your bagpipes! Unfortunately this does not prevent plumbers crack!
