This book is a guide.  It is a description of what Walen found works with midsections of pipe bands from Grade 5/Novice up to experienced Grade 2 and higher bands.  This book does not give instruction or information on flourishing.  This book is for those who have a basic understanding of reading music and the value of musical notes.  Also, it helps if you have a basic understanding of music in the pipe band idiom. 

This book is intended specifically for persons interested in playing with a competitive pipe band.  However, it can be used by any pipe band that wants to improve.  The true goal is to improve the music created by pipe bands.
